Who am I?

I am many things and as so many people nowadays, I have many different hats.

From freelance event manager to swimming instructor and school administrator as well as a wife and mother – I have quite a variety of roles.

This blog is about my life down here in Dorset.  I tend to write about our favourite things: gardening, boating, kayaking and my latest passion – keeping chickens. I started keeping chickens in 2012 and this is my journey, sharing the knowledge I pick up, the fun I’m having and how I’ll find any way I can to get chickens into every conversation!

  1. Hi, I live in Talbot Woods and have just bought a good 2nd hand chicken ark and run – now to decide which breed of hens to get, we will only have 3 or 4 hens. What is the Bournemouth Council’s rules on keeping chickens in a home garden?? What if the neighbours complain (PS we will not have a cockerel). We don’t want to buy all the bits and chickens only to be told they must go !

    • Thank you for that mention – it’s very exciting this blogging about chicken malarkey. Have a worrying feeling this may become an obsession!
